Editing our project

So far we have wrapped filming our video. We completed it within 2 days of filming. At 2 different locations. The next step is to edit. To edit we will be using iMovie. We have dumped and imported our footage. Our first step was to import the footage to see how much time we had to work with. We had around two minutes of footage to cut and add transitions to. Personally, I think this opened up our creative ideas. We were not stressed about how much we could cut to meet the requirements and if the transitions would affect our time.
For the second step, we started cutting out footage. We edited out all of the outtakes and mess-ups we had. Most of our cuts were just clipping off maybe one or two seconds of the clip. Most of our clips were around 6 to 8 seconds. Following the storyboard format. We also cut out the footage to have our transitions flow better. Our clips don't all have cuts in between them and have effects.  We overviewed different transitions to use. Some we use would include blurring and fading. These added smooth transitions in between shots that were in the same place as well as switching locations.
Another effect we added was a fade to black. In our last scene the lighting switches and it's darker. So to end the scene we added a fade to black. We all agreed that it added a clean ending. In our editing, we included a slow motion. We achieved this by slowing down the time frame and cutting the clips. We also added music and fit that with the clips.  Our editing adds emphasis to the videos themselves and blends together. We silenced the clips and overlayed the music to match with the clips. Due to it being a music video.

Filming the video

So far with filming, we've got a few scenes completed. Personally, I left while on break so I wasn't present for one day of filming. However, we are still filming out commercial and I am there for it. For example, we are going to Las Olas our second filming location the next day. To shoot and possibly the park as well. So far we have dumped and saved any footage we've got onto the editing software. With our schedules, we are planning after school days and leaving the end of the week and weekend for editing. The good thing is we already have a vision and are completing it. With only 3 locations filming isn't the struggle it's more knowing how much time we have. Another convenient thing is that all 3 locations are close around town so it's not troublesome do reach all three.
My role in the video is to act and I help with filming if we are getting two-person shots. As well as having input on the editing process. With our video, it doesn't involve traditional acting. Our filming style is a montage like with no scripting. My acting is just being in the shot and highlighting what is happening in the scene. Having no script allows us to set the mood through body language and facial expressions. Another thing that would influence the mood would be our song choice. I think my actions will have an influence on the message we want to get across. Which is teenagers having fun, like documenting us enjoying life.  Through the song's message and our acting the mood will be set.
With our filming shots, we have very common ideas. Having to figure out running however was challenging. Running with a camera trying to keep it stabilized. Even with a stabilizer setting it wasn't just like how we wanted it. There haven't been too many challenges with filming and the locations we chose. Thankfully no safety issues have occurred, and the weather has been permitting.  The filming has been smooth and no real big issues have been brought up. Filming for me at least has been positive. We have a scene of our video filmed and approved by the group. Now to just to continue on and finish!
